WÆXE invites Swiss-based performers (m/f/x), aged 18–23 years old, to audition for OBSOLESCENCE — 60-minutes performance merging dance, theatre in a responsive audiovisual scenography.

  • The Project

Obsolescence is an interdisciplinary performance that explores the parallels between planned obsolescence in consumer goods and the ephemeral nature of a dancer’s career. By intertwining the personal narratives of three dancers from different generations, the piece delves into the themes of aging, transformation, and resilience. Through a reactive environment that merges human presence with technological elements, the performance questions the perception of value, longevity, and renewal in both the artistic and societal realms. It invites audiences to reflect on how we assign worth to bodies, experiences, and objects in a system that prioritizes constant renewal over lasting significance.
